Beschreibung
Venice is a city far from the urban chaos and frenetic
atmospheres. It is a city without cars, where the vaporetto
can be taken or people can walk day and night or arrive
at any place in the city: a great historical center from
the 16th century, the era of the apogee of the Republic
of Venice. But this city is not only a wonderful museum.
The "University of Cá Foscari" and the
"University Institute of Architecture" are active
study centers; the Biennial Foundation , with its sections
of visual arts, music and theater, offers shows of international
interest all the year.. The night life of Venice is live
and dynamic. Almost every month traditional festivals
are celebrated. The school is located in the center of
Venice, in a "campo" well known by Venetians,
Campo Santa Margherita: a meeting place for students and
residents who do their shopping in the beautiful shops
of the area or take a break chatting and drinking in the
open cafés. Also an historic building with a wide
terrace hosts the school. Students have free access to
Internet, and a study room with video facilities where
they can watch films from the video collection of the
school.
Unterkunft
The school can arrange students' accommodation. If it
is available, the students can stay with a Venetian
host-family (single room with kitchen facility) or they
can share an apartment with other students (single or
double rooms are available only for those who apply
together and attend courses during the same period).
The school can also book other apartments in town.
Unterricht
The teaching methodology is based upon a fully communicative
approach that promotes and encourages students’
active participation. This methodology searches to develop
the oral and written communication skills. Current and
up to date material is used as an example of real communication
while introducing the students to Italian culture and
society. The main communication skills - listening,
speaking, reading and writing - are equally investigated
and gradually developed. In the courses, individual
and group activities are alternated and work to reinforce
the oral and written understanding.
Aktivitäten
Intensive courses can be combined with cultural seminars.
For example: art, watercolor, wines, cuisine, crystal,
masks, Burano embroider, etc.
