Verona has recently been declared a city of Cultural Heritage of Mankind by the Unesco. It lies on the banks of the river Adige, near the Lake Garda and the Lessini mountains. Apart from its fame for its opera, theatre and ballet seasons, Verona is also rich in historical monuments from the Roman period, the Middle Ages and the 19th century. It has as well many places of interest, museums and theatres. The Italian Cultural Centre is situated in the heart of Verona just a couple of minutes' walk from San Zeno's Church, the Arena and Castelvecchio. After class the students can use the languages lab, the computer room and borrow books and videos from the library.

Academics

The objective of the courses is not only to study the main grammatical areas but more importantly, to enable the student to improve their communicative skills. Video, computers and audio tapes are used to supplement the textbook used in the courses. In the classroom the emphasis is on real life situations. There are six language course levels: beginners, elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, post-intermediate and advanced.

Activities

The school organizes cultural activities: excursions by the environs of the city; visits to museums, exhibitions, concerts; trips to other near cities (Venice, Mantua, and Milan). In summer it is possible to go to the opera, ballet, theatre, concerts, and cinema outdoors. Also practical lessons of cuisine, wine tasting and suppers.
