Lodging

Lodging search: For those who arrive at Italy to study or as a tourist, it is easy to obtain lodging, since Italy has thirty thousand hotels and thirty five thousand campings, lodgings of rural tourism, bed & breakfast, youth hostels, private lodgings, etc. The prices of all the hotels are approved by the Provincial Commission of Tourism. The prices depend on the season, location, category and facilities of the establishments. The Italian Commission of Tourism publishes an official guide every year, with all the hotels and pensions of the country (Annuario Alberghi). The tax in Italy for the hotels is of 10% in the normal ones, and of 19% in the luxury establishments.

Apartments to rent: The apartments, mainly in the great cities, are quite expensive. Many Italians share them and that is a good option to practice the language. That information can be read in the newspaper Seconda Mano.

Other options: Youth hostels. In Italy there are 54 youth hostels that are managed by the Italian Associazione Italiana Alberghi per la Gioventù (AIG). You can ask for the complete list of these establishments at the Office of Tourism in Rome . During the summer and the tourist season it is essential to book in advance. The AIG proposes to book by fax for free in Florence, Naples, Rome and Venice.

Our sponsor Sprachcaffe Language PLUS offers its students residences for those who wish to learn Italian in Italy, in Calabria or Florence.
