Description
Florence is one of the most visited cities of Italy and
the world by its artistic beauties. The School is located
in a palace of the XIX century in the Piazza della Republica.
It offers 16 bright classrooms equipped with television
set, two rooms with projectors and stereo installation,
and a great room for exhibitions, concerts and conferences
with more than 100 seats. During the breaks the students
have other places to stay.
Lodging
School offers to lodge in family houses (single or double
rooms, with breakfast or half board), students apartments
(single or double rooms), private apartments or hotels.
Academics
Center Dante Alighieri has created methodologies based
on the teaching of the grammar applied to the conversation
techniques. Attention is dedicated to the gradual enrichment
of the individual vocabulary, to the idiomatic expressions
of the spoken language and to the specific slangs. The
program is developed in progressive levels to learn
the essential and high-priority elements. The classes
have a maximum of thirteen students. The courses are
divided in three sections: Elementary, Intermediate
and Advanced. Each one is divided in other three levels;
in addition to these nine levels there are other two
intermediates, so almost every month eleven levels are
organized. Each level lasts four weeks.
Activities
The school offers information about cultural activities:
theater, concerts, events, museums and cultural centers.
The visits to the city are explained in such a basic
Italian that even beginners can understand it. In summer,
the School organizes tours in bicycle by the environs
of Florence and the Chianti. Celebrations, dinners and
meetings are organized once per month, and also Italian
students are invited. The students also have the opportunity
to speak with Italians and practice a sport (soccer,
volley, swimming, tennis, golf).
