Description
The school is located in the heart of the city, between
via Nazionale and the Coliseum, just a few steps from
the legendary Trevi Fountain and the eternal Roman Forum.
The school is on the first floor of a 19th century building.
There are 5 classrooms each with a table and chairs, a
whiteboard and a tape recorder. There is a small multimedia
lab with free internet connection, a spacious administrative
area, the Director’s office, 2 toilets and a small
garden terrace.
Lodging
The school helps the students to settle into apartments
with other Italian students, or in apartments where the
owners provide a room with bathroom and use of the kitchen.
Academics
Language teaching is given in a context of culture and
history with the purpose of favoring the knowledge of
Rome and Italy in its popular, artistic, historical and
traditional manifestations. Didactic units are planned
adopting modern methodologies of direct education and
being based on the language as a communication instrument.
There is a limited number of students by class (maximum
8). First of all, the students take a test to establish
the degree of knowledge of Italian, a brief complete oral
test and an initial evaluation.
Activities
Students can make two activities per week: a guided visit
through the city and the projection of an Italian film.
Both activities contribute outside the class to activate
the ability to understand the language and expression.
By that invites the students to take advantage of them
and to request the book list of reading and the videos.
The school also promotes exchange of conversation, celebrations
and conferences and in the summer months invites the students
to participate outdoors during the day.
