Description
Castelraimondo is a small and cosy town in the province
of Macerata, only 50 km away from the Adriatic Sea. It
is in a green and mountainous zone full of castles, medieval
cities and little towns rich in culture and history. The
Societá Dante Alighieri is in a modern building
with very well equipped bright rooms, a library, video
room, meeting rooms, and reading and social, sport, cultural
and diverse activities.
Lodging
The students can lodge on apartments of "Le Magnolie",
residence located in the same building of the school.
Academics
The teaching method is based on the direct relation
between professor and student. The methodological approach
considers therefore the country of origin of the student
and the base of its cultural preparation. The traditional
material is complemented with reading of original texts
oriented to satisfy the exigencies of the class, and
as far as possible, to the individual needs of the student.
This, thanks to the limited number of students per class.
The courses are based on the inductive method and they
are developed completely in Italian language, providing
the student, from the beginning, the necessary tools
to surpass the first logistic difficulties that appear
when being in a foreign country and taking the student
gradually to a second stage and the following objectives:
gradual increase of the oral and written communicative
capacity, deepening in diverse aspects of the Italian
culture from a linguistic, historical, literary and
artistic point of view.
Activities
The excursions are made in the evening in the neighborhoods
or to more distant cities every two weeks. The weekends
there are tours to cities like Perugia, Asissi, Florence,
Rome, Venice, Naples, etc. In the evening, the school
offers diverse activities such as sports, long walks,
cycling, horse riding, Italian films, trips to the coast,
and visits to musical or theater shows, for example,
the opera season, local music , etc.
