Description
Florence is located in the heart of Tuscany. There has
its origins the Italian language thanks to Dante, Petrarca
and Boccaccio. Florence have an amazing artistic patrimony,
with its museums, churches and monuments. During the year,
the visitors can go to art shows, music and dance that
can satisfy all the exigencies. The city is not only known
for its art and culture but also for its exceptional cuisine,
trattoria, ancient gelaterie, wine bars, elegant shops,
artistic workshops and typical markets that maintain the
popular old spirit. The school is located in the San Lorenzo
quarter in the heart of the old part of the city, just
a few steps away from the Medici Chapels and the central
market area. It has modern facilities, such as a cafeteria,
air-conditioning, reading rooms and an attractive courtyard
garden.
Lodging
The school can help the students to find lodging in
apartment of students or family houses (with breakfast
or half board).
Academics
The method is based on the harmonious development of
the four linguistic skills: listening and speaking,
reading and writing. The small number of students per
class and the diverse teaching techniques enable each
student to be an active participant in the learning
process. The language is always presented in situations
and the student immediately can practice what has been
studied. The Italian language courses are named after
the Italian trains categories: Rapido, Diretto, Locale
and Eurostar. Each class consists of an average of 8
students (maximum 12). The minimum attendance is one
week. Each course is offered in seven levels and to
complete a level four weeks are needed.
Activities
Every week the school has free seminars on Italian culture,
guided visits the most important monuments and beautiful
churches of Florence with a professors of Art history
and Italian films projections are organized. Every month
the school offers parties, trips and excursions, dinners
in the best restaurants of the city and the participation
in sport and cultural events.
